According to several sources cited by TheWrap, the actor negotiated a flat fee of 20 million dollars, on top of which come bonuses tied to the film’s box-office performance. With more than 2 billion dollars in worldwide takings in under three weeks, his final pay could exceed 100 million dollars.

For this fourth solo film in the Spider-Man suit, Tom Holland reportedly secured a base salary of 20 million dollars. But that sum is only part of what the actor could ultimately take home. According to three sources close to his contract interviewed by TheWrap, Holland does indeed have a particularly favourable deal including bonuses indexed to the film’s commercial performance. And unlike some Hollywood contracts, those bonuses are reportedly uncapped. In other words, the more Brand New Day makes, the higher Tom Holland’s cheque can keep climbing.
According to the same sources, the actor should therefore pass 100 million dollars in total earnings thanks to the film. It is impossible, however, to pin down the final figure precisely, since the bonuses keep moving with the film’s takings.
Spider-Man Brand New Day is smashing records!
This exceptional pay is obviously explained by the extraordinary performance of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Sony and Marvel film passed the 2-billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office after only three weekends, becoming the eighth film in history to reach that level. With around 785.8 million dollars in North America and 1.236 billion internationally, it stood at close to 2.022 billion dollars.
The film has also become the biggest success in Sony Pictures’ history, overtaking Spider-Man: No Way Home among others. It is currently the second-fastest film in history to cross 2 billion dollars, behind Avengers: Endgame. Its opening had already set the tone with around 360 million dollars in the United States and Canada in its first weekend, for a worldwide launch of close to 927 million dollars.
Tom Holland: hugely bankable
The way Tom Holland’s salary has evolved since his MCU debut is particularly spectacular. For his first appearance in Captain America Civil War in 2016, the actor reportedly earned around 250,000 dollars. For Spider-Man Homecoming the following year, his salary reportedly rose to around 500,000 dollars. He then reportedly took home around 4 million dollars for Far From Home, then close to 10 million dollars for No Way Home in 2021. With the 20 million dollars guaranteed for Spider-Man Brand New Day, to which more than 80 million dollars in bonuses could be added, Tom Holland therefore crosses a new threshold. For The Odyssey, his salary was reportedly well below what he negotiated for Spider-Man, but would still top 10 million dollars according to reports in the French press.
