Gears of War: E-Day isn’t out just yet — it’s still a few months away — but you can already get hold of its most iconic weapon at 1:1 scale. Collectors, take note: the Xbox Games Studios Shop is offering a life-size replica of the Prototype Lancer, directly inspired by the weapon Marcus Fenix and the COG soldiers will be wielding in the next instalment. And clearly, fans didn’t wait long to reach for their credit cards, since the first wave of pre-orders is already sold out.
A Lancer 91 cm long and close to 3 kg
To stick as closely as possible to the model found in the game, the creative teams used the Gears of War E-Day assets directly to make the moulds. Every detail has been reproduced, from the bolts to the vents by way of the welds, and the result is fairly massive: 91 cm long, 35.5 cm high, 20 cm wide and around 2.7 kg. I was expecting heavier, mind you. The replica is made of ABS and PVC and comes with a hand-painted finish that gives the Lancer a “battle-worn” look, as if it had come straight out of the first battles of Emergence Day. Worth noting that a stand is supplied as well, so you can display it.
Naturally, a piece like this isn’t really meant to end up in a cupboard. The Prototype Lancer sells for $299.99, that is €260.95, and only in North America (yep!). A price tag that clearly hasn’t put collectors off, since the first wave of pre-orders has already gone. Orders placed before 20 August are due to ship in November 2026 if all goes well. For latecomers, a second wave is open until 28 August, with deliveries now expected in February 2027.
