With GTA 6 finally closing in on release, PlayStation has started to unveil the merchandise that will accompany this global event. During its latest State of Play, two PS5 DualSense controllers themed after Rockstar Games' next game were revealed. A white version and a black version, both inspired by the mood of Vice City. The two models sport an iridescent finish that shifts colour slightly depending on the light, evoking Vice City's sunsets and neon signs. A palm tree is also built straight into the shell, while the official GTA 6 logo appears on the touchpad and on the back of the controller. Look closely and you'll notice that the white version leans into daytime Vice City, all beaches and pastel shades, while the black one goes for the city's night-time atmosphere and those famous neon lights.
£85, pricier than the game itself!
As for the price, this limited edition DualSense will set you back 84.99 euros, which is more than the standard edition of the game. Not exactly a shock, since that's the usual asking price, and with two colourways destined to become iconic, you can picture collectors picking up both. Pre-orders open on 10 September at 10am, on the official PlayStation store and at selected participating retailers. The two controllers will then be available on 19 November 2026, the exact same day GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sony also points out that the game will make full use of the DualSense's features, notably haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which are meant to convey the various sensations tied to Jason and Lucia's actions.
That leaves one question: is Sony also cooking up a GTA 6-themed PS5 or PS5 Pro? For now, no collector's console has been announced. But given the commercial weight of Rockstar's game and the strategy already in motion around these new controllers, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see more merchandise revealed in the coming weeks.
