Players have been waiting almost 10 years now for Injustice to return, and according to plenty of rumours, NetherRealm is busy putting the sequel together. The studio still hasn't officially announced Injustice 3, but the clues are starting to pile up. Either way, after several rumours over the past few months, a new leak — this time from the CV of a stunt performer specialising in performance and motion capture — appears to have identified two characters in the game: Supergirl and Batwoman.
Supergirl, but above all Batwoman
The CV in question belongs to Mackensi Emory, a stunt performer whose credits include Mortal Kombat and the Star Wars Jedi saga. According to information spotted by MP1st, she took part in motion capture sessions for Injustice 3, with two characters named in black and white: Supergirl and Batwoman. Supergirl's presence isn't exactly a shock, given that she played a major role in Injustice 2 and her return seemed a fairly safe bet for any sequel. Batwoman, on the other hand, is far more intriguing, since she has never appeared in either of the two main games. That said, Kate Kane does exist in the Injustice universe, notably through the comics that serve as a prequel to the games. The snag is that she dies there, before the events of the first instalment. So her presence in Injustice 3 could have a few explanations: either it's a new version of the character, or the story has something unprecedented — possibly bonkers — in store for us.
Whatever the case, the leaked document joins several other clues that have surfaced recently, including a possible playtest held in California and an earlier mention of the game on an artist's CV. Let's not pretend to be surprised: we all know Ed Boon and his teams are working on it, right?
