Believe it or not, there's just over a month to go before GTA 6 lands. And yet 19 November 2026 still feels like a mirage. But when you see Rockstar Games' marketing machine taking off like a rocket, there's no doubt left: we'll be getting our hands on its new game in a few weeks' time. Case in point, this fresh update to the official GTA VI site, which this time talks us through the radio, one of the most important parts of the game and its whole experience. The Scottish studio has just revealed 6 new stations that will keep players company as they travel across Leonida, spanning wildly different musical worlds. But the real headline is a little addition that changes the series forever: for the first time in the history of the franchise, you'll be able to listen to the radio outside of vehicles. Yes, really.
Jason and Lucia will indeed be able to pull out their earbuds or headphones, hook them up to their smartphone and keep listening to the various stations as they wander the streets. Better still, podcasts will be available the same way, since Rockstar Games has introduced a streaming and on-demand listening system alongside the programmes broadcast traditionally on the usual radio stations. And just to push the excess even further, Rockstar has announced the biggest selection of radio stations ever offered in a Grand Theft Auto. Variety is once again on the menu, with rock, pop, metal, hip-hop, Latin music, country and even sounds from Africa.
And will Aneka and her Japanese Boy be there?
The 6 stations revealed today already give a good idea of what's in store for players. First up there's "Cocoteo FM", geared towards modern Latin music with El Martillo and La Gata at the controls. Bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton are all on the bill, with the aim of making the station muy caliente. The mood will obviously be rather different on "Back Country Radio", where MW and Delta Dawne will send rebel country echoing across the Everglades. The station will also be punctuated by appearances from one Mud Dog Mike, a roving reporter and swamp weatherman who broadcasts from his airboat.
As for "AfroBank FM", it'll be digging into the African scene, with artists Burna and Palmsy mixing twentieth-century classics with lesser-known gems and contemporary productions, amapiano and 3-step included. Fans of hefty riffs can turn to The Chamber 106.6, where DJ Kerry and DJ Tom will spin several decades of metal and trace the genre's roots all across Leonida. Elsewhere, "Dirty South Classics" will be devoted entirely to Southern rap and hip-hop. And finally, we learn that Rockstar is bringing back "Flash FM", the Vice City institution, which will be keeping watch over the pop with Robyn and Alex behind the mics. And this is only the beginning, since Rockstar is holding some of its stations back for later and promises to reveal more in due course. We'll wait patiently.
