22 Years of JeuxActu
22 years of JeuxActu. It’s been a long, incredible journey that has now come to an end.
Back in May 2004, when we launched JeuxActu, we had no idea that our media outlet would become part of so many people’s daily lives. Back then, the Internet was still in its early days. YouTube didn’t exist. Neither did Twitch. Social media was barely a thing. Looking back today, we realize just how lucky we were to have you by our side all these years. We would have loved for the adventure to never end, but as you know, life is full of unexpected turns. And so, JEUXACTU was 22 years of video games, movies and pop culture, with all kinds of formats and ideas that evolved alongside the changes brought by the Internet and its relentless algorithms.
The last few years were definitely more challenging. Running a media outlet completely on my own, day in and day out, for five years — the website, the YouTube channel, all of its social media accounts, not to mention the creative work and editing EVERY SINGLE VIDEO — was no easy task. There were sacrifices, often at the expense of my family, just to keep up with the pace dictated by an industry that never stops. But you know what? I have no regrets. I did it because I believed in it, and above all, because I loved it. I loved this media outlet that I co-founded more than two decades ago.
A New Chapter
They say all good things must come to an end. But after 22 years, I didn’t want everything to stop there. After a few weeks of thinking about what came next, I realized that I still had that desire to keep going. To keep informing you. To keep talking about this shared passion that drives all of us. And that’s how screenactu was born — all one word, all lowercase. Not to try to replace JeuxActu, but to open a new chapter. Video games, movies and more, if you’re into that too — that’s our slogan. screenactu aims to be a place dedicated to everything that gets entertainment and screen culture fans excited.
The end of JeuxActu isn’t simply the end of a website. It also marks the end of a professional and human adventure that has been such a huge part of my life. An adventure that I shared with many colleagues over the years, and for whom I’m incredibly grateful today. Grateful that, together, we managed to make JeuxActu one of the French-language websites that truly mattered in the French video game landscape. Thank you.

The Return of Old Friends
And I won’t be writing this new chapter alone. I’m very happy to announce the return of Laurely Birba and Fabien Pellegrini, two former JeuxActu team members who will be joining me on this new adventure. Two writers, two personalities, two different styles that some of you already know — but above all, the same shared passion for the things we love to talk about and share. Having them back by my side is, of course, a huge joy. Their perspective and experience will bring a lot to screenactu. I also want to sincerely thank them for giving their time to this new website/media outlet, and for wanting to help build it and grow this new adventure with us.
I’d also like to thank Fixo and JC, the tech wizards behind the creation of the screenactu website. In just a few weeks, they managed to bring this new platform for sharing and communication to life, solve an impressive number of problems, and turn ideas that were sometimes still pretty vague into something real and concrete. They did an incredible amount of work in record time. Thank you, JC. Thank you, Fixo.
Today, screenactu is starting small. No budget, no resources, nothing really — except an insane desire to do things right. We’re going to try to stay as close as possible to the latest breaking news, while also bringing you more in-depth analysis with the perspective and hindsight that come with time. We know there’s still so much to build: the website, the content, the community, and above all, the trust of everyone who chooses to follow us. But we want to believe in this project, and we want to give ourselves the means to make it grow. And who knows? If this adventure grows enough, maybe one day it will allow us to make a full living from it — completely independently.
French, English… and even Chinese!
Oh yes, screenactu also has another ambition: to go beyond borders. Starting today, the website is available in French, English and Chinese, because more than ever, our passions are international. A video game, a movie, a TV series or a piece of pop culture doesn’t necessarily have borders. We can all get excited about the same characters, the same stories and the same creations, whether we’re in Paris, Los Angeles, Beijing, Shanghai or somewhere else in the world. So whether you’ve been with us since the JeuxActu days, or you’re discovering screenactu today, welcome.
And above all, thank you for believing in us.
